Facial aesthetics is the general definition of procedures on facial region for cosmetic purposes. Aging is inevitable for every individual. Making a person feel fresh, young, healthy by easing its effects is one of the purposes of aesthetic surgery. Face is a region that effects of aging cannot be hidden. The tired, stressed and unhappy facial expression a person sees when he/she looks in the mirror both makes him/her feel bad and causes problems with social relations.
With age, elasticity loss and sagging of the whole body skin occurs; on facial skin, this problem becomes more distinctive with the influence of gravity. In interpersonal communications face is the focus of attention on the first look. Therefore, deformities of face causes aesthetic concerns even if it's not a disease. There are measurements defined by doctors for facial aesthetics, but the important thing about decision is the person's medically assessed own expectations. Face needs to be examined in 3 sections; upper facial region including forehead, eyebrows and upper eyelids, mid-face region including lower eyelids and buccal section and lower facial region including chin and neck. It is possible to separately interfere these regions surgically. But in necessary conditions combined interferences (facelift and eyelid surgery, forehead lift and blepharoplasty) give more efficient results in facial aesthetical deformities.
