alın_germe   What is forehead lift (brow lift)?

It is a surgical operation which is done for correction of deformities caused by loosening, sagging on forehead region and displacement of eyebrows downwards entirely. Fundamentally it is an upper facelift that minimizes the creases across the forehead. Symptoms of aging start primarily on upper facial region and around eyes. Low-positioned and sagging eyebrows cause fullness on eyelids. The aesthetic surgery for excessive tissue of eyelids (blepharoplasty) is not
enough on individuals with lower localized eyebrows on its own.

How is forehead lift done?

Forehead lift is performed in hospitals preferably under general anesthesia on operating conditions. Two cm of incisions are made to scalp on forehead and temporal region, and entrance is done with specially designed endoscopic surgical equipments. Forehead region and eyebrows are released and fixated to its new location with different techniques. This way tension of forehead is restored and the eyebrows are repositioned with easily hidden scars on scalp.

How is postoperative phase of forehead lift?

After forehead lift a bandage on forehead region and superior of eyebrows that keeps the skin tense is done. Drainage tubes can be removed the next day. Patient is discharged the same day if a combined surgical operation is not done. The paresthesia and asymmetry is temporary. Avoidance from intense sun, solarium, sauna or Turkish bath and intense sportive activities is necessary for first 8 weeks. Complications can be seen after any surgical intervention. Risks caused by anesthesia, hematomas on operation site, infections and delay of scar healing are common possible complications that can be seen after any surgical operation. Usage of cigarettes increases complication rate because of its negative effects on tissue oxygenation and blood flow.
